The Study of Thai Folk Medicine Practice and Thaiherbs Promotion Project, Tambol Khaw Jetlook Thapklo District Phichit Province 2007

Abstract

    This study aims to evalulate Thai Folk medical practice and Thaiherbs promotion Project held at Tambol Khaw Jetlook, Thapklo District,PhichitProvinceby comparing the objective, input and output of the project through Open System Framework. The procedure was done by collecting information on a number of Folk medicine doctors, massagers, herbal sauna and hot herbs treatment, herbs grown in community, and consumers preferred herbalism. The process includes the training course with 30 trainees on herbal massage, sauna, and hot herbs treatment, and 60 on Thai Folk medicine practice curriculum. This also covers growing herbs and herbal therapy in local families .

    This output of the project was that all 60 trainees of Thai Folk doctors are certified and increases the number of Thai folk doctors from 3  to 63. The trainees of massage, sauna and hot herbs treatment were certified 24 from 30 or 80 .00 percent. These trainees also open herbal clinics which extends from 5  to 24. Local families growing herbs, increase from 33.00 percent to 48 percent, and  there were two groups of consumers interested in herbalism and massage.
