The sample group consisted of 148 monks selected through simple random sampling from April to June 2023. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency distribution, percentages, means, standard deviations, maximum, and minimum values. Additionally, the relationship between health literacy and health behaviors was analyzed using the Chi-square test. The research findings revealed that the majority of the sample group were temple monks (75.0%), with a mean age of 48.8 years (SD = 17.27) and an average monastic experience of 7.8 years (SD = 9.21). Most had completed primary education (24.3%) without studying Dhamma or Pali (41.2%) and had no chronic illnesses (81.1%). Regarding health knowledge, the majority had adequate levels (61.5%), while most health behaviors (3E 2S) were at an unsatisfactory level (83.1%). The relationship between health literacy and health behaviors (3E 2S) was statistically significant at the .05 level. Therefore, there should be activities implemented to enhance health knowledge among monks to facilitate appropriate health behavior modifications in the future.
Nisa Panya , Wuttichan Huaisai, Thiraporn Unkaew , Wachirapon Montreewong Copyright (c) 2024 Primary Health Care Journal (Northeastern Edition) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://thaidj.org/index.php/pjne/article/view/14271 Thu, 28 Mar 2024 00:00:00 +0700 THE EFFECTIVENESS OF HEALTH LITERACY PROGRAM FOR NEW RISK STUDENT GROUP TO PREVENTIVE ALCOHOL DRINKING BEHAVIORS IN OPPORTUNITY EXPANSION SCHOOL PAK THONG CHAI DISTRICT NAKHON RATCHASIMA PROVINCE https://thaidj.org/index.php/pjne/article/view/13906
The quasi-experimental study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a health knowledge program for students at risk of alcohol consumption in a school in Pak Thong Chai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The sample comprised two groups: an experimental group of 30 students who received the health knowledge program and a control group of 30 students who received regular programming. Simple random sampling was employed. The research utilized a health knowledge program to measure health knowledge and alcohol consumption prevention behaviors. Statistical analyses included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-tests (paired and independent samples). The study found that after the intervention, the experimental group demonstrated significantly higher levels of knowledge, understanding, access to health information, communication proficiency, self-management, media literacy, decision-making skills, and alcohol consumption prevention behaviors compared to both their baseline and the control group, with statistical significance at the .01 level.
Siriwan Pimjan , Sarodh Pechmanee , Thanakorn Panyasaisophon Copyright (c) 2024 Primary Health Care Journal (Northeastern Edition) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://thaidj.org/index.php/pjne/article/view/13906 Sat, 06 Apr 2024 00:00:00 +0700 QUALITY OF LIFE AND HAPPINESS OF VILLAGE HEALTH VOLUNTEERS, PHU SANG DISTRICT, PHAYAO PROVINCE https://thaidj.org/index.php/pjne/article/view/13988
The quality of life and happiness are significant factors in the performance of village health volunteers in the community. Participants engaged in a 4-week program utilizing the " Khao Lam Strengthens the Mind " activity kit, positive psychology capital assessment forms, and a mental health index measurement test. Data was collected pre- and post-program and analyzed statistically using percentage, mean, standard deviation, maximum, minimum, and the paired t-test to compare mean differences. The study found that following program participation, VHVs demonstrated significantly higher average levels of positive psychology capital compared to before the activity, with statistical significance at the .05 level. Overall satisfaction with the "Inspiration Rice" activity kit program was rated highly. Therefore, the "Inspiration Rice" activity kit program effectively enhances positive psychology capital, promoting VHVs' ability to utilize the "AORSORMOR Online" application and efficiently adapt to utilizing technology in public health practices.
Phanthakan Yuenyong, Yananthorn Krabthip , Kanogkorn Jongprasit , Kanokrada Kaewon , Nichakarn Songjaeng, Thamonwan Nalai , Parichat Thongnart , Suphansa Srimora, Preecha Suvannathong Copyright (c) 2024 Primary Health Care Journal (Northeastern Edition) https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://thaidj.org/index.php/pjne/article/view/14167 Sat, 27 Apr 2024 00:00:00 +0700 HEALTH LITERACY, PARTICIPATION IN THE PREVENTION OF CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 AND TRANSFORMATIONS LEADERSHIP OF VILLAGE HEALTH VOLUNTEERS IN PHAYAO PROVINCE https://thaidj.org/index.php/pjne/article/view/14179
The objective of this cross-sectional research study was to examine health literacy, participation in the prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 and transformations leadership of village health volunteers in Phayao province.
