Development of a practical guideline for evaluating the standards of national leprosy node.

Abstract
This study aimed to develop a national leprosy specialized services by the National Leprosy Certification Committee. The draft of the certification manual was created and revised using the 3C-PDSA/DALI approach It was then piloted at Raj Pracha Samasai Institute, Phra Pradaeng.
The study found : Draft manual comprehensively covered all aspects related to the care and surveillance of leprosy, aligning with the objectives of comprehensive service systems as defined by the national leprosy specialized service : developed included : 1. Enabling doctors and nurses to screen and diagnose leprosy accurately and promptly. 2. Ensuring the safety of leprosy cases from treatment complications. 3. Preventing increased disability.
4. Providing holistic physical, mental, and social rehabilitation for cases with disabilities. The study identified that the standards for support systems, quality development, and evaluation were not clearly., the standards and indicators for case holding and physical and psycho-social rehabilitation met hospital standards. However, the manual's qualitative measurement of indicators was insufficient, and the evidence required for certification was not comprehensive enough. Proposed the following adjustments and recommendations for the manual : 1. National leprosy service evaluations should be conducted by leprosy experts. 2. Evaluations should be conducted at least biennially, with indicator reviews to keep them up to date. 3. Indicators should be created to reflect the link between proactive and reactive work in national leprosy services. Policy recommendations : 1. Adapting the national leprosy service certification manual to the context of regional hospitals. 2. National leprosy services should act as consultants of leprosy care. 3. Supervision activities for regional hospitals.
