Health Education on Condom Use in Male Attendants of Samutprakan STD Clinic

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the relationship between the correct condom use and these following factors: age, marital status, education level, occupation and income; and to compare the method of condom used before and after health education among male STD patients attending Samutprakan provincial STD clinic during January 1993 to April 1993. The results showed that the factors correlated with correct condom use were age, marital status, education level and income. Before health education, 10.0% of condom use were correct. The steps of condom use always missing were squeeze the tip of condom before use and to pull the condom off after use. After health education, 61.4% of condom use were correct, which was significantly improved.
