Prevalence and Factors Relaed to Round Intestinal Worms in Primary School Students, Samutsongkram Province

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study the prevalence rate and factors related to round intestinal Worms in primary school students of academic year 1991 in Samutsongkram province. Laboratory method that we used for stool examination is Katous thick smear. After the experiment found that, the prevalence rate of round intestinal worms is 4.62 The percentage of round intestinal worms are Hookworm 3.12, Whipworm 0.82 and Threadworm 0.58 the economic ststus is the important factor that related to round intestinal worms. That means if economic status of the family is lower than 2,500 Baht per month, the prevalence rate of round intestinal worms higher that the economic status of the family is higher than 2,500 Baht per month statistical significantly. Qualified antihelminth drugs should be selected, and the proper storage with regulary inspection is essential.
