Situations and Outcomes of Health Improvement Operations of Employees in the Workplace by the Participation of Employees and the Support of the Establishment Owner

Abstract

This study were: 1) To assess the situation of health development implementation according to the 10 package guidelines. 2) To study the outcomes of health improvement of employees in the workplace. 3) to study the relationship between personal factors and healthy behavior development. The study was from a sample group of employees in an establishment that has developed employee health according to the guidelines of the 10 packages of the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health. The sample was 425 people. The result as it were found that 1) the establishment has announced a policy to promote the organization of health in the form of policy communication, starting from the policy of the management down to the practitioner. By focusing on the issue of safety at work is important. There has been a change in the mechanism for the health development process of the establishment. It defines policies, defines problems based on data and defines activities that meet the needs and voluntariness of employees and health development assessment by receiving financial support from the management/owner of the establishment. From the results of the situation assessment, it were found that employees participate in health development operations and there is a need to solve and prevent health problems. 2) Results of the health improvement of employees in the workplace found that most employees have added seasonings to ready meals every time, drinking flavored beverages, eat sweet every day, eat a high-fat diet, do not exercise, and not visit a dentist for dental care and drinking alcoholic beverages infrequently. 3) On physical health healthy behavior. It was related to sex, age, education, marital status, childbearing and job position at 14.0%-69.0% in terms of health status. Relationships with sex, age, education, marital status, and childbearing were 35.0%-68.0% in terms of mental and spiritual health. It was relate to sex, age, education, marital status and job position by 20.0%-24.3% and social health. The relationship with age was 23.0% with statistical significance at 0.01 and 0.05. Suggestions there should be 10 packages of policies and operations. Continuously continue to develop that will lead to knowledge creation. Raise the level of public policy driving for participatory and concrete health and capacity building for enhancing or modifying the health behaviors of working people and network partners. The key supporting factors for success are executives, health leaders and network partners, and knowledge necessary to operate. There is a concrete driving process to build sustainability.
