Abstract
The objectives of this quasi-experimental research were to แomparative study of self-management behavior levels and compare the accumulated blood sugar levels (HbA1C) of patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who cannot control their blood sugar. Before and after receiving the self-management support program during the group participating in the self-management support program and the group receiving a standard care program. The sample group was 108 patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The sample size was determined using G* Power simple random sampling. By taking labels and putting them into the experimental and control groups alternately, each group has 54 people. The tools used include: Experimental tools and data collection tools It is a general information questionnaire and self-management behavior. The content validity was checked and the CVI value was 0.90 and the confidence value was 0.85.The data was analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and independent t-test statistics. The results of the study found that the experimental group that received the support program self management have self-management behavior after joining the program higher than before joining the program and self-management behavior between the experimental group higher than the group receiving a standard care program. Accumulated sugar levels in the blood after joining the program lower than before joining the program and lower than the group receiving the standard care program. They are statistically significantly different (p<0.05). The results of this research can be used to develop service clinics or applied to promote self-management behavior in promoting health control and prevention of other non-communicable diseases.
