Development of Participatory Fall Prevention Model for Elderly by using the Mechanism of the District Health Board in Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

This research and development aimed to study the situation of fall prevention in the elderly and development of participatory fall prevention model for elderly. Including investigate the effects of participatory fall prevention model for elderly by using the mechanism of the district health board in Mueang district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. This study in May 2024 to February 2025. The study was divided into three phases. Phases 1 study the situation of knowledge and behavior of fall prevention in elderly (n=425) and focus group discussion (n=27). Phases 2 development of participatory fall prevention model for elderly by focus group discussion (n=21). Phases 3 assessment of knowledge and behavior of fall prevention in elderly (n=384) and focus group discussion (n=21). The research instrument were questionnaires and SALE model. The inferential statistics was frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and paired t-test. The results of the study were as follows: knowledge and behavior of fall prevention in elderly was at moderate level and the model developed from this research was “SALE model” comprised; screening, assessment, Long Term Care and environment. It was found that knowledge and behavior of fall prevention in elderly in the posttest was higher than in the pretest at a significant level of .05. The suggestions from this research is that a participatory fall prevention model for elderly that can be applied to fall prevention in Elderly
