The development of Community Care System to Emergency Psychiatry Patients in Nakhon Pathom Hospital, Nakhon Pathom Province
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This action research aimed to develop care system for Emergency Psychiatry Patients from community to Nakhon Pathom Hospital, Nakhon Pathom Province. The research employed Deming’s development cycle. Development approach was applied in 3 stage 1) Situational analysis and review of the related input factor of Emergency Psychiatry patients 2) Develop the care system by guideline practice of Emergency Psychiatry. 3) Evaluate the outcome. The nursing personnel were purpose sample 42 person and Emergency Psychiatry Patients 30, October – September 2018. evaluation the Guideline Practice The samples were 42 nursing personnel purposing sample to attend the training program and received pre/post-test in Knowledge,attitude and confidence. The data were analyzed using percentage, means, standard deviation, paired samples
t-test and qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.
The Study found that care system for Emergency Psychiatry Patients lack of continuation. Guideline was not clear, Lacking of knowledge and skill for Patients care. The development of community care system by workshops and focus group. To develop the assessment tool for referral process and system. To develop the skill of personnel nurse for Emergency Psychiatry Patients. There were also the improvement found that after training, 42 nurse were observed increased significantly in their knowledge, attitude, and confidence. The outcome at one year follow up found a decreased in incidence of aggressive. And violent behavior, a reduction in the number of referral and decrease in the personnel injuries from attack. There were also the improvement in the score of health care provider’s service satisfaction after the study when compared with pre-study. The led to conclusion of care system. Guideline which was suggested to be used with Emergency Psychiatry Patients.
