Abstract
Abstract
In the COVID-19 epidemic, pregnant women are considered to receive the vaccines against COVID-19 despite the limitation of the vaccine safety information.
The side effects and delivery outcomes of 410 pregnant women, who got the COVID-19 vaccines in Trang Province were investigated in this research between January and April 2022 to gather the data. A personal data questionnaire was used as the study tool. Side effects of vaccines and birth outcomes were recorded on this form and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data.
The results indicated that the sample had an average age of 29.31±5.78 years, graduated with a postgraduate degree representing 29.5 percent, had an average household income of 14,492.68 ±7,172.09 baht, and had gotten two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with 76.8% receiving the first and second doses of Sinovac, respectively. Within 30 minutes, 7 days, and 30 days following the vaccines, the majority of the participants had no adverse side effects. Within 7 days after the injections, the most frequent side effects found were pain, swelling, redness, heat, and itching at the injection sites. 84.4% of the sample did not have obstetric insertion. Normal labor was at 49.5 percent, and cesarean section was at 49.3 percent. There was 28.57% of participants found to have hypertension in pregnancy during labor and after delivery. The average baby's birth weight was 3,232.05±2,215.29 grams. The APGAR scores at minutes 1, 5, and 10 were between 7-10 and hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit 15.3%. It seems that the Covid-19 vaccines are safe for mothers and babies with a few side effects. Therefore, there should be public relations and encouragement to pregnant women to get a full COVID-19 immunization.
