Effectiveness of an integrated approach to promote the drug-resistant bacterial infection prevention and control guideline in Angthong Hospital

            The quasi-experimental study with one group pre-posttest design aimed to study an integrated approach to promote the drug-resistant bacterial infection prevention and control guideline in Angthong Hospital. The samples group studied consisted of including registered nurses, nursing assistant, practical nurse, ward officer, and stretcher were 149 samples. The research instruments included 1) an integrated approach to promote the drug-resistant bacterial infection prevention and control guideline and 2) the tools used for data collection : a personal data questionnaire, knowledge and skills assessment for prevention and control of the spread of drug-resistant bacteria questionnaire, satisfaction with prevention and control of the spread of drug resistant bacteria questionnaire. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and dependent-t test.

            The results showed that the mean scores of knowledges and skills scores after applying an integrated approach to promote the drug-resistant bacterial infection prevention and control guideline were statistically significantly higher than before apply (p < .05)

            The mean scores of satisfactions with an integrated approach to promote the drug-resistant bacterial infection prevention and control guideline of samples were high level (Mean = 3.92, S.D. = 0.755). The spread of drug-resistant bacteria in the hospital was the most beneficial to the organization (Mean = 4.23, SD. = 0.772).
