Abstract

            Objective : To developed and study a program to strengthen the empowerment of caregivers of terminally ill patients with palliative care.

            Method : Action research from 1 October 2022 - 30 September 2023. sample group 35 palliative caretakers of terminally ill patients Research implementation tools include the empowerment program for caregivers of end-of-life palliative patients. Data collection tools include: 1. General information questionnaire. 2. Stress assessment form (ST- 5) 3. Depression assessment form 4. Care burden measure for end-of-life caregivers Conducted in 4 phases: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Quantitative data analysis Using descriptive statistics including number, percentage, average, comparing using pai t-test statistics.

            Results : The developed program consists of a multidisciplinary team to enhance knowledge. and skills for palliative caregivers of terminally ill patients from before being admitted to the unit until continuing care for a period of at least 6 months. The results showed that Caregivers have increased confidence Stress decreased from a very high level (65.71%) to a moderate level (91.43 percent). Depression decreased from a moderate level (80.00 %) to a low level (85.71 %). The feeling of being a burden decreased sometimes from a very high level. 65%, followed by often, 15% sometimes, 90% and not often at all.
