Abstract

ABSTRACT

        The purpose of this research were development of community participation model to conduct a funeral without alcohol. The participants in this study were Relatives of the deceased, community leaders, village health volunteers, teachers, sub-district administration officials and district health promotion officers  total of 51 people.
The study area is Dong Bang District, Na Dun District, Mahasarakham Province.
And duration of study from 2014 to 2015.The research instruments comprised Interview about funeral arrangements, focus group discussion, In-depth interview, observing participation and appreciation influence control. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. And qualitative analysis using content analysis. The results in this study revealed that: Relatives of the deceased to cooperate in organizing funerals, more without alcohol By the year 2014, the average cost of alcoholic beverage decreased by 8,883.33 baht per time. And in 2015, the cost of alcohol can be reduced by an average of 3,253.85 baht per time. The funeral will sometimes cost no alcohol at all. The information about the alcohol-free funeral and mostly community leaders will publicize and publicity banners. Also, having a funeral without alcohol will help to prevent controversy. Reduce costs.
And will make more merit. In terms of satisfaction with alcohol-free funeral arrangements, the public satisfaction was high. The next thing to do is to make all kinds of traditional favors without alcohol and networking in the community.
