Development of a One-Day Surgery Service and Patient Care Model Phayakkhaphumphisai Hospital, Mahasarakham Province

Objective: To develop a one-Day surgery service and patient care model and study its results.
Methods : This study is a research and development from October 2021 to September 2022, the sample group consisted of 1) a group of developers, surgeons, obstetricians, and nurses, totaling 24 people, 2) 46 one day surgery patients, proceeding in 3 phases: 1) preparation,
2) model development, 3) trial and evaluation. Research tools include manuals and guidelines. Data collection tools include care outcome records. Satisfaction assessment form Analyze data Descriptive statistics, paired t-tests, and content analysis were used.
Results : The model of surgery and care for same-day surgery patients consists of structural aspects including policies, personnel, and guidelines for patient care. Process aspects: evaluation, diagnosis, and care before, during, and after surgery. And the results showed that there were post-operative complications. both before discharge from the hospital and complications after surgery within 24 - 72 hours. There was also no re-admission rate, returning to the hospital before the appointment. Patients and relatives were at the highest level of overall satisfaction.
Conclusion: one day surgery and patient care service model in the context of a community hospital. Phayakkhaphumphisai Hospital Reduces the risk of complications, reduces congestion, and patients are satisfied.
