Abstract

ABSTRACT

           This research was a cross-sectionnal Analytic study with its aim to investigate into motivation that affects participation in dengue hemorrhagic fever prevention and control of village health volunteers of Seutao Sub-district, Chianyuen District, Mahasarakham Province.

           The study was carried out with a group of 131 village house volunteers who passed a test for content validity approved by 3 experts and a content validity of questionnaire was also found out by using the Cronbach’s Alfa Coefficient of 0.95. Data was collected from 1 February 2019 to 15 march 2019 and was analized by using program computer.
The statistics used for data analysis were descriptive statistics such as Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, Median, Minimum and Maximum. The statistics was for describing the personal characteristics of volunteers, and their level of motivation and participation. In addition their inferential statistics were also using a Spearman rank correlation coefficient and a stepwise multiple regression analysis. The level of statistical significance was set at 0.05.

             The results showed that the majority of group of female for 95(72.52%).The aged mean value 47.43 years old. Most are aged between 41-50 years old for 50(38.17%) minimum age 21,most of age 69 years old, Married status for 114 (87.02%). The level of education secondary school for 72 (54.96%). Income not exceeding 5,000 baht per month for 72 (54.96%) mean of income 5,973.28 baht (S.D.=3,316.52 baht). The duration of the volunteer village health mean value 11.34 years here are same of the maximum 40 years the minimum 1 year. The overall level of motivation of the sample was at a hight level
(  =3.77 ,S.D. =0.44) while a level of participation of the moderate level
(  =3.66 ,S.D. =0.53). The overall level of motivation that affects participation and dengue hemorrhagic fever prevention and control of the village health volunteers of  Seutao Sub-district, Chianyuen District, Mahasarakham Province was positive hight level (r=0.74, 95%CI=0.654-0.810, p<0.001). adjR²=0.7217
