Effects of the Participation Promoting Program on Dengue Prevention and Control Among Health Volunteers in Bannong Dern, Chom Porn sub district, Moei Wadi district, Roi Et.

ABSTRACT
This study is quasi-experiment research that aimed to compare knowledge, behavior and participation in dengue prevention and control among health volunteers. The samples were 30 volunteers in Bannong Dern who selected by a simple random method with specified criteria, spending 12 weeks to complete the process. The research instruments was the participation promoting program on dengue prevention and control. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-test in the level of statistical significance 0.05. The results were as follows 1) general information : majority were female with 23 persons, 76.7% ; the most aged were between 40-50 years, 12 person, 40%; mean age was 49.13 years; 17 persons had an education at the primary school, 56.7% and mean volunteer experience at 12.93 years. 2) the finding demonstrated that after using the program, knowledge, behavior and participation scores on dengue prevention and control increased significantly (p < 0.05). The results from this study suggested that the participation promoting program should be applied to other areas. However, the process must be participated with health personnel in order to exchange knowledge, improvement and solving of problems continually.
