แนวทางปฏิบัติกรณีผู้ป่วยกลืนหรือสำลักสิ่งแปลกปลอมในระหว่างการรักษาทางทันตกรรม
บทคัดย่อ
อุบัติการณ์การเกิดอุบัติเหตุ การกลืนสิ่งแปลกปลอมเข้าทางเดินอาหาร หรือการสำลักสิ่งแปลกปลอมเข้าทางเดินหายใจในขณะที่ผู้ป่วยรับการรักษาทางทันตกรรมพบได้น้อย อุบัติการณ์ประมาณ 1-12%ของอุบัติการณ์ความปลอดภัยของผู้ป่วยทางทันตกรรมทั้งหมด 1 แต่เมื่อเกิดขึ้นแล้วอาจเป็นอันตรายถึงขั้นเสียชีวิตได้ โดยเฉพาะในกรณีที่มีการสำลักสิ่งแปลกปลอมเข้าทางเดินหายใจ แนวทางการจัดการผู้ป่วยภายหลังการเกิดอุบัติเหตุจะพิจารณาจากอาการของผู้ป่วย ตำแหน่ง ขนาดและรูปร่างของสิ่งแปลกปลอม การที่ทันตแพทย์ตระหนักถึงความเสี่ยงดังกล่าวและหาทางป้องกันก่อนการรักษารวมไปถึงสามารถให้ความช่วยเหลือผู้ป่วยอย่างถูกวิธีและทันท่วงที จะช่วยลดความเสี่ยงและอันตรายที่อาจเกิดขึ้นได้
