Evaluation of Liver Flukes and Cholangiocarcinoma Prevention and Control in Si Chomphu District , KhonKaen Province.

The aim of this study was to assess the interventions implemented to prevent and manage liver fluke disease and Cholangiocarcinoma in Si Chom District, situated in Khon Kaen Province. The participants were categorized into two separate groups. The first group consisted of 25 participants, including the director of hospital director, the district public health officer, the subdistrict administrative organization, the school, the subdistrict health promotion hospital, village health volunteers, and officers in charge of public health. The second group comprised 375 individuals who were 18 years old or older. The data were gathered via focus group talks and questionnaires, and were evaluated using statistical measures such as percentage, mean, standard deviation, and paired t-test.
The quantitative data showed that the context achieved a highest level of 4.36, while the input, process, output, and total levels were high at 4.07, 4.16, 3.99, and 4.14, respectively. An analysis of 375 people revealed a significant and statistically meaningful increase in the mean knowledge score about fluke disease and bile duct after participating in the activity (p-value < 0.01). In addition, the level of moderate behavior was on increasing. The qualitative data revealed the following: 1) Employing community planning to make arrangements will enhance efficiency. 2) The Ministry of Education ought to create clear and specific standards for the educational organization and learning. This is especially critical in provinces where liver flukes are widespread. 3) The Ministry of Interior should require local administrative entities to build at least one Pond sewage treatment in each district, based on specific criteria. Success factors: 1) Management prioritizes 2) Network partner cooperation 3) Agency staff development The public health sector collaborates with schools. 4) Improving public health through screening, referral, and treatment.
