Syringe is a medical device essential for providing medication and fluid in medical procedures. Syringe is also useful for make devices that can be used to improve effectiveness of treatment. As demonstrated in this study, the author used syringe to produce 3 innovations: (1) a “skin hook” which helps to open shallow wounds, (2) a “mouth gag” which can be used to protect gastroscopic device from biting by pediatric patients, and (3) a “long mirror” which connects a syringe to a mirror to detect abnormality in the oral cavity and throat. The 3 innovations were tested for performance comparing with existing surgical instruments; and it was found that the innovations were more efficient than the original tools and enhance the treatment. This was no undesirable incident associated with the use of the 3 devices. Surgeons gave 100.0 percent satisfaction during tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy surgeries because the devices reduced surgical time from an average of 45 minutes to 25 minutes. There was no incident of re-surgery within 24 hours to 72 hours after the surgery. The 3 innovations also reduced the cost up to baht 3,764,210 per year.
