Cesarean Section Scar Endometriosis : Case Report and Literature Review

Abstract

Cesarean section scar endometriosis is a rare event. A case report on of three patients, aged 29-38 years, seen at Chachoengsao general hospital.  Each of whom had presented with a painful mass at the previous cesarean section sites.  The pain was cyclical and strongest just prior to menstruation. The duration of their symptoms ranged from 1.5 to 8 years and their scars ranged from 2 to 3cm. All patients underwent surgical exploration and excision of the mass which was revealed by histology to be endometrioma.  The post operative course were uneventfull and no recurrence were found. The literature regarding cesarean endometriosis was reviewed.
