It adopted mixed methods research, combines of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The subjects participating in this study were 169 healthcare providers from 3 community hospitals in Phetchaburi province: Cha Am Hospital, Ban Laem Hospital and Ban Lad Hospital. The instrument used to collect the data was the happinometer developed in the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, with a reliability 0.869. Data were also collected from focus group discussions of the participants. The statistics used to analyze the data were frequency, percentage and content analysis. The findings revealed as follows: (1) the lowest dimension of happy organization was comprised of 3 items: happy relaxation, happy money and happy work-life; (2) eventhough there were some existing projects for happy organization, those projects were not built on problem analysis and real need of the employees; and (3) the happy organization model has to start from finding the real problems in order to understand the needs of the people within the organization, and the appropriate instruments were happinometer and group discussion. Moreover, the model had to be based on organizational culture, the participation of every individual in the organization, and having a lead team to act as the driving force.
