Abstract

Health massage establishment is a valuable service business that continuously builds a reputation for our country. However, the transmission of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) terribly affects to the operations of the health service entrepreneur. Under the policy to reduce the risk of infection, therefore, it is necessary to modify and optimize the working processes of health massage services. Here we demonstrate a quasi-experimental research based on a one-group pre-posttest for developing and evaluating the results of site inspection through the VDO call system with the LINE application. In this study, the selective sampling from 10 of health massage shop operators and 4 of competent staffs with the collecting date ranging from 1 April to 30 April 2020 were used as a tooling for data evaluation. The health establishment standard evaluation form prepared by Ministry of Public Health and satisfaction assessment form for site inspection health establishment were utilized to collect the data via a video chat system (VDO call) via the LINE application. By analyzing the collecting data via statistical method and Wilcoxon Matched pairs Signed Rank Test, the results could be divided by 2 parts. In the first part, the results revealed that the satisfaction level of the health massage shop operators was higher than that of the competent official. The suitable, modern and cost-effective operation of the modified working processes of health massage services were commented by the health massage shop operators. On the other hand, the competent officials made the comments related to the sound clarity, Image clarity, and the correctness of the contents. For the second part, it was found that there were no statistically significant differences in the comparison of premises inspection scores massage shop health through VDO call and location check (P value> 0.05). These results indicated that the Line application enable us to inspect the location of a healthy massage shop through the VDO call system. In addition, we found that while the Line application had some drawbacks and limitations, it can be applicable for an alternative way for site examinations under the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) scenario which can effectively reduce the risk of infection, save resources and be an example of adaptation by applying technology to the situation.
