Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop online learning model on HIV and STIs for field staff and peer leader assessing to men who have sex with men and transgender woman (MSM/TG). The study achievement and satisfaction were measured from the target group who learned all 14 topics of DDC001 course by post-learning test and satisfaction assessment. Participants were 32 staff who working on HIV/AIDS prevention and alleviation in community-based organizations, Provincial Public Health Office, the District Public Health Office and the hospital in Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Phuket and Nakhon Ratchasima. The result explained by descriptive statistics and content analysis. The findings showed that post-test score ranged from 89 – 100. It appears that participants satisfied with online learning because they are able to utilized content for AIDS prevention and alleviation in the setting area. The results can be summarized as 4 aspects. Firstly, curriculum and content of 10 lessons, 14 topics were interesting. It was useful and reliable for working at local setting, such as working proactively with the target audience. Secondly, e-Learning had various benefits. This e-Learning can be integrated to education system. Moreover, e-Learning may increase channels of learning. It appears that e-Learning was convenient and feasible for self-learning without time constraints. Course introduction and data collection also were available and convenient to study. Thirdly, learning materials were interesting and may help student to remember the content easier. Finally, the evaluation aspect had some interesting comments according to the study. The assessment, content summaries and post-test in each chapter were able to help student review past lessons. In addition, there are some suggestions for the development of policies that facilitate work in the area. Developing a model for both individual and group learning, for example, support local leaders to access the DDC001 e-Learning course in order to work on HIV/AIDS prevention and alleviation in ending AIDS.
