FACTORS AFFECTING PESTICIDE USE BEHAVIOR OF FARMERS IN THAPPUT DISTRICT, PHANG NGA PROVINCE

This research aims to 1) to study personal factors A model of health beliefs and pesticide use behaviors of farmers, Thap Put District, Phang Nga Province. and 2) to study the factors affecting the pesticide use behavior of farmers in Thap Put District, Phang Nga Province. The sample group in this study was 390 farmers in Thap Put District, Phang Nga Province, from the 2017 Annual Report of the Thap Put District Public Health Office, aged 15-59 years. with a simple sampling Collect data using questionnaires. The statistics used in the study were descriptive statistics. which consists of frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation by and inferential statistics using Multiple Regression statistics.
The results showed that 1) personal factors The health belief patterns and pesticide use behaviors of farmers in Thap Put District, Phang Nga Province found that most of them were males aged between 30 – 44 years old, lower secondary education. The average monthly income is 20,001 - 25,000 baht, using pesticides for 7-9 years and spraying by themselves. The health belief pattern was at a high level. The mean was 4.01 and the use behavior of pesticides. The overall picture is often at the level. has an average of 2.65. and 2) factors affecting the behavior of pesticide use among farmers in Thap Put District, Phang Nga Province. It was found that personal factors did not affect the behavior of using pesticides. and health belief patterns affecting farmer’s chemical pesticide use behavior. In Thap Put District, Phang Nga Province, they differed in perceptions of the risk of disease associated with the use of pesticides. Perceived the severity of pesticide use and perceived barriers to practice in the use of pesticides. statistically significant at the 0.05 level.
