Abstract

This study is a research and development aiming for developing the model of the surveillance, prevention and control of Coronavirus Disease in 2019 by the procedure of District Health Board, Muang District, Chaiyaphum Province. A representative sample consists of 21 members of District Health Board (DHB) and 310 members of Sub-district Health Board (THB). The research had been conducted since January, 2021 to June, 2022. It is divided into 4 steps. Firstly, consider the condition, knowledge, and practice for the prevention and the control of the disease of the board’s members. Secondly, form the model, apply it with the pandemic area, and improve the model. Thirdly, apply the model to all areas. Finally, evaluate the result after the use of the model by discussing with the board and utilizing questionnaires. Analyzed by descriptive statistics, the data presents the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Paired Sample t-test statistics. Besides, the qualitative data is analyzed by content analysis.

The finding notes that 1) the model of the surveillance, prevention and control of Coronavirus Disease in 2019 by the procedure of District Health Board involves 6 strategies which are 1) diseases’ filtering and surveillance in the community 2) patient care 3) tracking the risk contacts 4) risk communication 5) the use of social measures and 6) coordination and data management. 2) After the improvement, the sample happens to get higher average score of knowledge and the procedure of surveillance, prevention and control of Coronavirus Disease in 2019. Before the operation, knowledge’s point scores; x = 2.98, S.D. = 0.35 and procedure’s point scores; x = 2.43, S.D. = 0.27. After the operation, knowledge’s point scores; x = 3.43, S.D. = 0.42 and procedure’s point scores; x = 2.85, S.D. = 0.23. The score is statistically significant increase (p<0.001). A satisfaction level provides a high score with 87.31 percent. It is concluded that the result of the study comes up with a clear picture of the model of the surveillance, prevention and control. So, its consequence brings out more expertise, skill, and participation of members, leading the effective operation toward the result of the surveillance, prevention and control of Coronavirus Disease in 2019. Therefore, this research should be used as a model to build on the operation for other areas and be applied with more fields of work onward.
