Abstract

       This research was the Descriptive research.  It is aimed to study the motivation level, social support level and study the relationship of the motivation with the social support for voluntary treatment  135 people with purposive sampling method.  One hundred percent of voluntary treatment of Narcotic patients in the Sub-District Health Promoting Hospital (Narcotic Addiction Treatment Center) for 15 places of Chombueng District Ratchaburi Province.This research processed data with the software package (SPSS) and analyzed the data with the Descriptive Statistics, percentage, mean, Standard Deviation and Pearson’s product-moment Correlation Coefficient.

      From the research result, This research found that the majority are males aged 41 – 60 years old.  Their marital status is single.  The education is the primary level.  Their income is 5,001 – 10,000 Baht.  They live with their fathers and mothers.  They lived in the country.  The first narcotic use was cigarette at the aged of 16-20 years old.  They mainly received the treatment for amphetamine.  They took the narcotic for 5-7 days per week.  They used the narcotics for 6-10 years.  The majority of them do not have the  congenital disease.  They are not paranoid.  They are not aggressive.  Moreover, they are not self-harm.  They live in the family happily.  The level for the motivation in receiving the overall voluntary treatment was in the moderate level (x̅ = 2.86 ,SD = 0.23 ).  The level in social support in receiving the overall voluntary treatment was in the moderate level (x̅ = 3.10 ,SD = 0.48). The overall relationship motivation and social support on voluntary treatment was low  (r=0.293**).  The Statistical Significance was .01.

       For the social support, the family members accepted, cared and warned them. The officers offered the treatment in a friendly manner.  They followed up and offered great consulting service.  The government offered the support.  There is the treatment service center near their house.  During the treatment, recipients of therapy can live in the society normally.  Therefore, the therapy recipients have the motivation in receiving the voluntary treatment in narcotic addiction treatment center.
