EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SMART-OSM APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT MODEL FOR VILLAGE HEALTH VOLUNTEERS IN KLAENG DISTRICT RAYONG PROVINCE
Abstract
This research is a mixed methods research. The objectives are 1) to study the situation of Smart Osm usage in the work, 2) to develop an appropriate Smart Osm usage model, and 3) to evaluate the effectiveness of the model among the sample group of village health volunteers in Klaeng District, Rayong Province. From the calculated sample size of 382 people, there are 3 smart usage potential development models: Activity 1: Smart Osm usage workshop, Activity 2: Smart Osm power building competition, and Activity 3: “Sharing and developing the next step of Smart Osm”. The study tools are divided into 3 sets: Set 1: Focus group discussion questions Set 2: Questionnaires to survey data on the effectiveness of the model, including: 1) Knowledge questionnaire on the use of Smart Osm, 2) Work effectiveness questionnaire, 3) Satisfaction questionnaire with the model. Set 3: Set of questions to evaluate effectiveness. Quantitative data were analyzed using statistics on numbers, means, percentages, and standard deviations. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis and t-tests to compare the effectiveness of the model for developing the potential to use Smart Osm before and after participating in the activity.
The results of the study found that knowledge about the use of Smart Osm before (=7.75 ,SD=2.07), after (=18.75, SD=1.35) P-Value < 0.001. The level of opinion about the use of Smart Osm found that before (=2.22, SD = 0.47), after (=4.56, SD = 0.29) P-Value < 0.001. There was a statistically significant difference between before and after the activity. And satisfaction with this development model, 82.20% were very satisfied, 17.80% were moderately satisfied.
This study demonstrates that capacity development through training activities, competitions, and experience sharing platforms can effectively increase the knowledge and confidence of Osm and are appropriate for public health work in a sustainable context.
