HEALTH LITERACY AND HEALTH BEHAVIOR OF THE VILLAGE HEALTH VOLUNTEERS (VHVs) IN PA NGIU SUB-DISTRICT, WIANG PA PAO DISTRICT, CHIAN

The research on Health Literacy and Health Behavior of Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) was a survey research to assess the level of Health Literacy and Health Behavior of Village Health Volunteers (VHVs). The instrument was the questionnaire of Health Literacy and Health Behavior of Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) for villages change in health behavior in the health management sub-district of Health Education Division (2019). The samples were 223 Village Health Volunteers in Pa Ngiu Sub-district Health, Wiang Pa Pao District, Chiang Rai Province by selection from people with qualifications, namely, listening, speaking in Thai language, have worked in the area for at least 6 months and voluntarily participated in the study. The study analyzed by descriptive statistics including of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation.
The results showed that Village Health Volunteers (VHVs) were very good level of Health Literacy with sufficient knowledge of health to perform correctly, to be expert and sustainable at 45.75 percent. The good level was having sufficient knowledge of health for proper behavior 39.01 percent, the fair level was that there was a little health knowledge about correct behavior, 12.11 percent. The poor level of 3.14 percent with insufficient knowledge of health for health behaviors. For Health Behaviors were very good level with correctly and appropriately self-care behavior was 53.36 percent, inferiors to a good level of health behavior was 36.77 percent with mostly of them were correctly self-care behavior, and fairly level of health behavior was 9.87 percent with self-care behavior.
