Factors Related to Cervical Cancer Screening Service among Women Risk Group, Ban Mai Sub-District, Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province

The purpose of this descriptive study is to study the factors related to cervical cancer screening service among women risk group, Ban Mai sub-district, Mueang district, Nakhon Ratchasima province. The sample was 360 people from women aged 35-60 year by simple random sampling. The data was collected by questionnaire. The data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, the maximum score and the minimum score, Chi-Square, and Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient. The result of the study revealed that the study sample average age was 49.62 years, the education level was primary and lower than primary at 48.72 %, 74.36 % were married, the occupation was housewife/trading/private business at 38.46 %, the average income was 3,789.74 baht, first sex average age was 20.72 years, have been pregnant at 38.46 %, contraceptive at 74.36 %, by means of taking birth control pills at 30.77 %. The perceived benefits of cervical cancer screening recognizing the risk of cervical cancer and perception of severity of cervical cancer were at the low level at 53.85%, 46.15% and 38.46% respectively, perception of obstacles in getting cervical cancer screening moderate level at 64.10 %, cervical cancer screening services in 5 years at 69.23%. Most of them received services at Sisa Lalaeng Health Promoting Hospital at 63.61%. The demographic characteristics include age, marital status, first sexual intercourse and pregnancy history had the relationship with cervical cancer screening service statistical significant (P-value< .05). The Health Belief Model include perceived severity of cervical cancer, perceived benefits of cervical cancer screening, perception of obstacles in getting cervical cancer screening and the perceived risk of cervical cancer had the positive relationship with cervical cancer screening service statistical significant (P-value <.05 r=.225, .150, .070 and .026)
