The Effects of A Program by Application The Health literacy and Social Support to Promote Behaviors on Breast Cancer Prevention Among Women Aged 30-55 years in Muang District, KhonKaen Province

This quasi-experimental research aimed to evaluate the effects of program by using the on application health literacy and social support to promote behaviors on breast cancer prevention. Sample were selected by criteria. 70 were simple random sampling technique and divided into two group. Each group 35 women. intervention program by the applying of health literacy and social support on occasions in 10 weeks. The intervention program consisted of an integrated activities such as group discussion group process, videos, lectures, demonstration and practice to assess internet and social media including to practice on breast self- exam (BSE), social support and home visit. the comparison group received only a routine service from Health Center. Data were collected though pre-test and post-test by questionnaires. Descriptive statistic: frequency, percentage, mean standard deviation and inference statistics were as paired simple t-test and independent t-test at 0.05 level of significantly. The main results were as follows: after the experiment show that the experimental group mean score of health literacy :accessibility of health information& health service, cognitive of health information , communication of health information, self-management, decision making and literacy media about breast cancer prevention, higher than the comparison group as well as higher than before the experiment at the significant level p-value<0.05. Attitude, and practice for health promotion, knowledge of breast cancer and breast self examination(BSE) higher than the-comparison group as well as higher than before the experiment at the significant level p-value<0.001. Recommendation : It would be to reinforce breast health literacy for promote behaviors on breast cancer prevention among women at high risk in other communities .
