A Model Development of Health Care Model for Informal Agricultural Workers In New Normal Lifestyle, Khon Kaen Province

Abstract

This study was Research and Development aims to study 1) The situation of health care in informal agricultural workers 2) To develop the model of health care and 3) The results in the model of them during the “New Normal” lifestyle in Khon Kaen province. The population was; 1) 100 informal agricultural workers, 2) 50 people associated with these informal agricultural workers. The tools for this study are a questionnaire, group discussion guidelines and, guidelines for observing health care for informal agricultural workers while in New Normal Lifestyle; conducted the study from September 2020– July 2021. The quantitative data analysis used descriptive statistics, Paired Samples t-test statistics. The qualitative data used content analysis to interpret. The result of the study found that the health care model of informal agricultural workers during new normal lifestyle or during the epidemic situation of COVID-19 is participation in the care of informal workers in the agricultural sector both passively and proactively in the community, contains four components; 1) The structure of the health care model, 2) The health care process, 3) The provision of occupational health service in the community 4) The follow up and evaluation. The comparison of the average of before- after developing the health care model for the informal agricultural workers, the result found a statistically significant difference (p-value=0.001), which that the workers care more about their health in the after-developing model than in the before-developing model. In conclusion, the development of the health care model makes participation in work, has good consequences for the workers, the network associated with the informal agricultural workers, and the community. Therefore, we should adjust this model to the informal agricultural workers and the informal agricultural workers and give importance to participating in providing occupational health services in the community to promote workers’ development and operation continuously.
