Happiness at Work among Staffs of Pathum Thani Provincial Public Health Office

Abstract
This study was aimed to study the level of happiness at work and to study the factors affecting happiness at work among staffs of Pathum Thani public health office. The population consisted of 97 staffs who work in public health office and work at least 1 year. The research instrument included happiness survey and semi-structure interview guideline. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA and content analysis.
The results were as followed:
1. The overall level of happiness at work had to be happy (SD = 71.54). Dimension 3: kindness had more happiness than any dimensions (SD = 77.28), follows by dimension 5: family (SD = 76.05) and dimension 2: relax had less happiness than any dimensions (SD = 65.71)
2. Factors affecting happiness at work among staffs, such as marital status, number of children, job characteristics and employment type.
2.1 Marital status: Single and married staffs had more happiness at work than divorced/separate/widowed staffs.
2.2 Number of children: Staffs who have no child and who have only one child had more happiness at work than staffs who had more than two children.
2.3 Job characteristics: Staff who work in office had more happiness at work than staffs who do service work, and staffs who do service work had more happiness at work than staffs who do executive work.
2.4 Employment type: Staffs who do full-time job and contract job had more happiness at work than staffs who do daily contract job.
3. In-depth interview result found that executives had supported the operation of happy workplace, included physical, psychological and financial well-being.
