Wapipathum Hospital provided full home isolation treatment for COVID-19 patients on March 8, 2022, we found that some patients had severe symptoms and some patients died at home. This cross-sectional study was conducted to study the factors related to severe symptoms and deaths of COVID-19 patients who were home isolated by the primary care of Wapipathum District hospital. The data were taken from 5,052 COVID-19 patients documented in the databases and the medical records from March 8th to April 30th, 2022. The descriptive statistics and logistic regression were applied for the analysis. The results showed that the factors that were significantly related to severe symptoms and deaths were age of more than 60 years old (AOR = 2.03 95%CI 1.09, 3.79) and risks of having at least 1 out of 3 severe conditions involving chronic kidney diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and immunocompromised status (AOR=4.76 95%CI 2.09, 10.83). Hence, COVID-19 patients who have such factors related to severe symptoms and deaths should be under close observation or hospitalized to lower the risks of severity and home deaths.
