Factors Influencing Electricity-Saving Behavior of Staff at Makarak Hospital, Tha Maka District, Kanchanaburi Province
Abstract
Abstract
This research aims to 1) To investigate the electricity‑conservation behaviors of personnel at Makarak Hospital, Tha Maka District, Kanchanaburi Province. 2) To identify key determinants influencing those behaviors among hospital staff. This descriptive study collected data through a structured questionnaire administered to all 756 staff members working across various departments of Makarak Hospital. Data analysis included : Descriptive statistics (percentages, means, standard deviations), Group differences assessed with t-tests and one‑way ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis
It was found that, The majority of participants were female (88.5%). The most represented age group was 51 – 60 years (28.6%). The largest proportion held a bachelor’s degree (57.6%), and 33.6% reported a monthly income exceeding 40,000 THB. A very high proportion of respondents (95.4%) had received information regarding electricity conservation. Overall, both attitudes toward energy conservation and self-reported energy-saving behaviors were rated at a high level. Staff exposure to internal communication channels about energy saving, and the degree of attention paid to such information, were both statistically significant predictors of energy-saving behavior (p < .05). A weak but statistically significant positive correlation was observed between attitudes and energy-saving behavior (r = 0.229, p < .001). This phrasing aligns with standard academic reporting guidelines for correlation statistics, where the correlation coefficient (r) and its p-value are clearly stated
