In 1994, the helminthiasis control program of the CDC department with the support of CCF conducted the assessment on the so-called project in randomized 30 villages covering 1,134 samples. Prevalence and intensity of hookworm together with hematocrit level were determined. Qualitative study on project management was also investigated. Results obtained are as follows. 1. Prevalence of helminthiasis is 36.6%, inwhich hookworm prevalence is 20.6%, while those of liverfluke is 16.8%. 2. Intensity of the most prevalence helminths is at the minimal level. 3. There is no evidence of iron deficiency anemia due to hookworm infection. 4. There has been no utilization of community revolving fund for latrine construction. 5. No iron tablet has been distributed as planned. 6. Operational model and its management are considered as the weakest points of the project strategies and approaches are not appropriate for making the program functioning. 7. Constructive recommendations has been given to both the CCF and the Ministry of Public Health for undertaking any project similar to this one within the context of government and MoPH policies.
