Oral lichen planus is a chronic inflamatory mucocutaneous disease of unknown etiology. An immunologically induced degeneration of oral epithelial cells has been suggested. Oral lichen planus has been reported in COVID-19 patients as well. Therefore, dentists should realize about this lesion with underlying diseases.
