Health Promotions Behaviors Development of Primary Hypertension Patients in Amphoe Mueang, Changwat Sa Kaeo-การพัฒนาพฤติกรรมการส่งเสริมสุขภาพ ของผู้ป่วยโรคความดันโลหิตสูงชนิดไม่ทราบสาเหตุ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดสระแก้ว

Abstract

             The objective of this quasi-experimental research was to evaluate effect of health promotions behaviors development program for primary hypertension patients in Amphoe Mueang, Changwat Sa Kaeo.  Samples were 70 registered patients receiving curative service at primary care unit Amphoe Mueang, Changwat Sa Kaeo.  Of which 35 persons comprised an experimental group and the rest was assigned to a comparison group.  The experimental group received services in a health promotions behaviors development program with application of protection motivation theory and group process.  Physical examination form and structured questionnaires were used to collect data both before and after the study.  Descriptive statistics and paired t-test at 0.05 level of significance were employed.

              After implementing self health promotions care behaviors program, the experimental group gained significantly higher mean scores on perceived in severity, perceived in susceptibity, self-efficacy, response efficacy, self care behaviors than those previously reported before the experiment and those of the comparison group.  As a result, the experimental group had significantly lower blood pressure levels than the levels before the experiment and those of the comparison group.
