Neonatal Outcomes of Adolescent Mother in Raman Distrinct, Yala Province

Abstract

This research aims to study the outcomes of infants born to teenage mothers, the relationship between the number of prenatal care visits and infant outcomes after birth and develop the antenatal care system for teenage mothers aged 13-19 years at Raman Hospital, Yala Province to have more quality This research is a descriptive study, collecting data from the medical record system of Raman Hospital, Yala Province, with the population being: Babies born to teenage mothers aged 13 - 19 years, Raman Hospital From 1 January to 31 December 2022, a total of 78 people. The research tools were data recording forms. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. and inferential statistics using Chi-square and Fisher's extract test with a statistical significance level of 0.05.

It was found that (1) babies born to teenage mothers 33.3% were premature infants. The average gestational age was 37.8 weeks. The lowest gestational age was 28 weeks. The average weight of the infants was 2791 grams, the lowest weight was 1670 grams. The infants had complications in 24.4%, including anemia, hyperventilation at birth, Amniotic fluid aspiration, blood thickening, and other complications. (2) The number of prenatal care visits of more than 5 times reduces the rate of preterm birth. (3) Develop the prenatal care system for teenage mothers aged 13-19 years at Raman Hospital. Yala Province by Promote training and provide knowledge to children and youth in health education Protecting yourself from pregnancy by promoting and educating pregnant youth and their families on the importance of prenatal care in order to provide appropriate and quality prenatal care for the benefit of the fetus and mother; do brochures and posters to provide knowledge about sex education, taking care of one's physical and emotional self in children and youth and the use of devices to prevent unwanted pregnancy; and to disseminate to children, youth, families, community leaders and religious leaders to reduce the pregnancy rate among youth 13-19 years old.
