Abstract

Public health reflects the effort to improve the health and well-being of the total population and prolong life. It was relying on the role of the government, the private sector, and the public, and by focusing on the social determinants of health which cover social and economic factors that influencing health. Therefore, designing public health services need to emphasize on the root cause of problem which called social determinants of health. At present, The Thai government is implementing Thailand 4.0 policy to achieve the goal of security, prosperity, and sustainability. This policy is a public policy that is relevant to the global development recognized as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The public health ac-tivities in this era need to design based on the disciplines which under the concept of less for more. This article aimed to present the definition of public health and social determinant of health, the global challenge and the challenge within country, Thailand 4.0 policy, and the example of public health activities in reaction to Thailand 4.0 to response aging society.
