Factors Affecting Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Control and Prevention of Public Health Workers in Amphoe Bang Sai District Health Office, Changwat Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya
Abstract
This research was a cross-sectional descriptive study aimed at studying level of work performance and its affecting factors in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever control and prevention of public health workers in Amphoe Bang Sai, Changwat Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and factors affecting level of the samples were 51 public health workers from 23 district health offices in Amphoe Bang Sai, Changwat Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. A set of questionnaires devised by the researcher and tested for content validity and reliability was employed with Cronbach coefficient of 0.82. Data collection was done in January 2008, and percentage, mean, standard deviation, chi-square test were used in data analysis. The research finding showed that work performance in control and prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever was at moderate level, (49.0%) factors oncerning work environment (village,population in responsible area), motivation factors, administration factors (planning, rganizing, personnel administration, monitoring) were affecting the level of work performance (p < 0.05). Problems and obstacles of the role performance of health centre worker in the prevention and control of dengue hemorrhagic fever were insufficient budget, limited number of personnel, human resource management, and public relations media.
