Abstract

                  In a retrospective analytical study of 191 severe head injury patients admitted in Somdej Prabuddhalertla hospital, Samut Song Khram between October 1, 2003 and September 30, 2005 were compared with 210 severe head injury patients admitted between October 1, 2005 and September 30, 2006 or before and after hospital accreditation.  During which the emergency management system had been fully accredited since October 1, 2005 and was financially supported by the Narentorn Emergency Center.  Significant decrease of mortality and morbidity rates of severe head injury had been observed, particularly the reduction of mortality rates during pre-, post- Hospital Accreditation from 70.16 percent to 47.14.
