New Technique for Tubal Ligation by Modified Pomeroy with Double Ligation Technique in Panomsarakham Hospital, Chachoengsao Province

Abstract

This objective of this study was to develop and assess the effectiveness of the tubal ligation tech-nique modifying from the Pomeroy technique by making double ligation for more effectiveness of contra-ception. It was conducted among post-partum women receiving tubal sterilization in the Panomsarakham District hospital, Chachoengsao province, during the period from October 2009 to October 2015. There were altogether 347 cases, and all of them were followed-up to assess the incident of pregnancy which was considered as a failure of the tubal ligation services. Upon tracking all the cases in 2015 when the sterilization had inplaced for 1 to 5 years, there was no report of any pregnancy among them; resulting in 100.00% effectiveness of the modified Pomeroy tubal ligation technique.
