Oral health status and service need of workers in 5 provinces around Bangkok
Abstract
This study was aimed to find out the basic oral health status and service need of factorial workers 5 provinces around Bangkok. Two thousand workers aged 18-44 years from 30 factories were had caries experience with 4.7 mean DMFT. Female had 1.3 DMFT – statistically greater than male (p – value < 0.05). 97.5% of workers afflicted with gingivitis and periodontal disease. Some behaviors obtained by interview were candy eating habit that had slightly associated to the mean DMFT (Odd ratio = 1.12). 23.5% of workers claimed that they ignored their dental problems because they had no time. From this study, it revealed that the workers could be justified as high risk group to oral disease.
