questionnaires was sent to 4,000 graduates by mail in 2012 and 1,467 copies were returned to be the
samples. Data were analysed by using descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, mean, standard
deviation, and Pearson Product Moment Coefficient. The major findings of the study were: (1) Most of
the graduates could get the job corresponded to the courses graduating. Particularly, those were finished
in a Bachelor of Nursing Science programme could get nursing job for 100%. The majority worked in
community hospitals, 53.01%, followed by regional hospitals, provincial hospitals, and primary health
care hospitals as19.19%, and 13.46%, respectively. However, 87.7% of the graduates were hospital
employees. Only 7.4% could be government staff members. Overall, 92.79% of graduates from this
institute could not find a government staff position, especially those who worked as correctional pharmacy,
correctional medical service emergency management, and official audio; (2) The graduates who
worked as a government staff member could have a ranging salary from 9,001 to 10,000 Baht. This
amount was quite less compared to ones who were not. Most of them got their income ranging from
11,001 to 15,000 Baht. The graduates rated job satisfaction in the mode of their colleagues at a
highest level (X=3.75,SD=0.73), followed by their work places (X=3.66,SD=0.68), whereas the
incomes, job position, and career advancement were rated at a low level (X=2.68-3.03,SD=0.84-
1.00), and (3) If possible, 57.7% of the graduates needed to change or quit their current work. The
job changing plan and career advancement were statistically negative significant with job satisfaction,
(r=ranging from-0.404 to -0.364), p. <0.01. Those who were not government staff members were
tend to leave their work more than the others. The results indicated that being a government staff
member mostly influenced the graduates’ job remaining. This could be significant information for
further workforce development of PI and Ministry of Public Health. Particularly, the departments have
to not only plan for health workforce production, but also maintain manpower in the health system.
