The objective of this study was to investigate the factors influencing management participation among village health volunteers (VHV) in Ubon Ratchathani province. Altogether 606 VHVs were randomly enrolled in the study which was conducted during June and July 2012. Data were collected by using a set of questionnaires; and the tools for statistical analyses included percentage, standard deviation, and 95-percent confidence intervals. Strength of association was assessed by Pearson correlation, t-test, analysis of variance and multivariate linear regression. It was found that the average age of the participating VHVs was 41.3 years old (SD=9.5). Majority of them were married (89.1 percent); and had elementary level of education (53.6%). The mean duration of VHV role was 7.7 years (SD=5.7). The average score for health management involvement was 89.8 (SD=15.2), 95% CI 88.5-91.0), which indicated a significantly high proportion of participation, ranging from 76.9 to 79.1 percent. Powerful variables that could influence the level of participation include motivation to be recognized, motivation on the success, age, attitude, education level, working relation with others, and policy support. Thus, improvement of such variables should be considered in order to increase the efficiency of the management of healthy villages.
