A Comparison of Maternal and Child Health Improvement between Community Hospitals with Hospital Network Quality Audit (HNQA) Application and Community Hospitals without HNQA Application (non HNQA) in Sakon Nakhon Province-การเปรียบเทียบผลงานตัวชี้วัดงานอนามัยแม่และเด็ก ในโรงพยาบาลชุมชนที่เข้าร่วม และไม่เข้าร่วมโครงการพัฒนาคุณภาพบริการแบบเครือข่าย (HNQA) ในจังหวัดสกลนคร

Abstract

           Maternal and Child Health Improvement via Hospital network quality Audit process has been conducted in 5 community hospitals in Sakonnakhon province since 2005.  The hospital including Tao ngoi hospital, Khok Sri Suphan hospital, Kud Bak hospital, Kamtakla hospital and Songdao hospital.The objective of this study was to compare the outcome of the Maternal and Child improvement between hospitals with HNQA and those without HNQA (Banmuang hospital, Kusuman hospital, Charoensin hospital, Nikom Namoun hospital, Phon Na kaew hospital: non HNQA).  The retrospective descriptive study was conducted during the year 2002-2007 by collecting indicators about Maternal and Child Health from the ministry of public health monthly report in each hospital.  Mean indicators in each group were calculated and compared.  The study about the opinions of the nurses working in the maternal and child health field were included.  The results revealed that the level of satisfaction of the nurses about the HNQA process was at a level with the mean of 3.79.  SD 0.51.  Based on the maternal and child health indicator achievements, 10 indicators could be observed as measured with hospitals without HNQA (non HNQA ) and 6 indicators with hospitals with HNQA.  However, the Maternal and Child Health via the HNQA process.  Trend of indicators to reach the goal is much better comparing to the one before HNQA was introduced to the hospitals.  Suggestions were made to improve
