Abstract

Nowadays, TB has become one of the significant health problems inThailand. It has been predicted that non-compliance TB patients especially those who live in the metropolitan area and their social and economic conditions are one of factors that make TB become a re-emerging disease. Also, non-compliance of TB patients can cause MDR-TB (Multidrug Resistance Tuberculosis).

Under limited amount of budget and scarce resources, implementing the prevention measures or ensuring that patients receive regular medication is necessary since the medical expenses per TB patient, especially MDR-TB patients, are high.

In this article, timetables are proposed as a tool in monitoring the treatment and preventing non-compliance problems.  The purpose of this tool is to provide the officer a better understanding of the patientsี lifestyle and be able to consider that information when planning the medication scheduling so that the patients can receive treatment regularly and continuously.  It is hopeful that this tool will be useful in order to reduce the default rate.
