บทคัดย่อ
The objective of this research was to audit the medical care service of diabetic patients in Sa Kaeo province. The out-patient medical records of 242 cases including 138 cases in 2005 and 104 cases in 2006 from seven hospitals was analyzed. The results indicated that the proportions of type 1 diabetic patients, type 2 diabetic patients, and DM with hypertension were 2.1, 34.3, and 44.6 percent, respectively. The quality of the medical care service consisting of retinal examination, neuropathy examination, dorsallis pedis, ECG, and HbA1c examination were reportedly lower than the standard of the Thailand medical care service. The levels of the three complications : dyslipidemia, IHD, and retinopathy, were higher than the standard. As a result, 10.3 percent of the diabetic patients in Sa Kaeo province were able to control fasting plasma glucose, post prandial glucose, and HbA1c levels, comparing the national recommended standard of 13.0 - 17.0 percent. It was suggested that further research and development on the entire system of DM medical care service covering home care, community care, and hospital care are necessary.
