Survey of Nurse’s knowledge and administration technique on Rivastigmine transdermal patch in Neurological Institute of Thailand
Abstract
This Survey research study is aimed to explore the nurse’s knowledge and administration technique of Rivastigmine transdermal patch in Neurological institute of Thailand. The survey was performed in 14 wards between January-March 2024 which contained 150 eligible nurses in our study. Each nurse was asked to complete 1) a demographic data questionnaire, 2) a Rivastigmine transdermal patch knowledge and administration technique test (CVI=0.96, Reliability=0.75) which consisted of 10 questions (10 points). We use descriptive statistic to analyze the research data. The results showed that most of them were female (92.67%), mean age 38.41±10.04 years old, complete bachelor’s degree (87.33), complete program of nursing specialty in neurological and neurosurgical nursing (39.10) and had worked in this hospital for 14.43±10.06 years. The sample knowledge score was 4.2±1.63 points and most of them know about what disease that use rivastigmine (85.33%) and the apply simulation (73.33%). Anyhow, the least of them know about how to administrate on the correct time (7.33%). From the research outcome, it should be the program to provide the knowledge and how to administrate the rivastigmine transdermal patch for the proper care in the future.
