Background:   Accident and emergency illnesses Must access medical services easily and quickly. Therefore will result in the least survival and disability The large number of patients coming to the emergency room each day has to have a system for separating the severity of the patients that is accurate and fast. Focusing on work flow Reduces congestion in the emergency room The researcher is interested in studying the results of patient classification in the accident and emergency departments wangchin hospital

Objective:     To study the results of using patient classification guidelines for accident and emergency departments at wangchin Hospital.

Study design: Is a quasi experimental research. The research is divided into 3 periods of 3 months, from April - December 2017.The first part is the study before using the separation guideline, the second part is the study phase to understand the use of the guideline, and the third part is the post-practice study. By using 2,183 medical records, the difference in the number of medical records before and after using the number of patients Random selection of samples Use the finished tables of Crazy and Morgan (Krejcie & Morgan). The randomization method uses systematic random sampling as random sampling. The instrument used for data collection was the criteria for separating patients from the standards of the National Institute of Emergency Medicine. The patient severity is divided into 5 levels based on the criteria of the Emergency Severity Index version 4 (ESI). Distribution statistics are percentage.

Results:         Emergency patient classification Before using the guideline for correct separation, 75.41 percent were incorrectly separated by 24.73 percent by separating higher than the severity of the patients 7.82 percent lower than the severity of the patients 16.91 percent after use Guideline 91.10% were correctly sorted, 8.90% were incorrectly separated, 3.63% were higher than the severity of the patients, 5.27% were lower than the severity of the patients.

Conclusion:    After the guideline for patient classification in 5 levels, divided by the severity of the patient By providing knowledge Study and understand together With a nanny system to help Make the sorting more accurate .
